Abstract : This research paper aims at the examination of scientific attitude of secondary school students in relation to their gender, type of institution and locality. A representative sample of 200 students was chosen for the study from Una district of Himachal Pradesh. To collect the data, investigators used Scientific Attitude Scale (2009) the tool developed by Dr Sukhwant Bajwa and Monica Mahajan namely. The findings revealed that male and female secondary school students differ significantly on scientific attitude, with female students having higher scientific attitude than their counterparts. A significant difference has also been found among rural and urban senior secondary school students, with urban students exhibiting higher level of scientific attitude than rural students. However no significant difference was observed between government and private school students. Similarly, no significant difference is observed between male and female students studying in government schools. Study also revealed that Comparison of male and female students studying in private schools showed a high significance, it revealed that female private school students have more scientific attitude than its counterpart.
