Author Name : Olivera Presi
Abstract : This article studies how the use of movies, documentaries, and cultural debates in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching fosters reflective learning, empathy, and intercultural awareness among Albanian university students. Using mixed-methods data from 155 lecturers and 470 students, the study shows that reflective audiovisual and dialogic techniques enhance engagement, communication, and cultural understanding. Quantitative analysis (Cronbach’s α > .80; R² = .052, p < .05) and qualitative analysis confirm that using these techniques develops students#34sig empathy, tolerance, and critical thinking. The article argues for integrating reflective, intercultural pedagogy into EFL curricula. So, the higher education in Albania aligns with contemporary international standards.
