Abstract : In this study, an attempt is made of find out whether the metacognitive ability of the mathematics students of 10th standard differs on the basis of certain student and institutional related variables and its relationship with academic achievement of learners. The study reveals that the learners differ in their metacognitive ability on the basis of certain student and teacher-related variables. A significant positive relationship between metacognitive ability and academic achievement of learners in mathematics was found.
