Abstract : This research was conducted to examine the process of the linguistic transfer from mother tongue or other previously learned foreign languages to the interlanguage of Albanian students learning German as a foreign language. The study is focused on the homework submitted from Albanian students during the online classes because of the Covid-pandemics. They are studying foreign languages at the Faculty of Education, Aleksander Moisiu University, Durres, Albania. Their mother tongue is Albanian and they have started to learn English as a foreign language at the third year of the elementary school and continue to learn it. The written works of Albanian students learning German at B2 level have been analyzed. The findings revealed how their interlanguage is influenced from their mother tongue and from English as a foreign language learned previously. It is demonstrated that transfer in German as a foreign language arise because of the structural differences between the languages and it can be viewed not only as a disruptive factor, but also as a creative process.
